Birthdays.

Monday, 2 May 2016

The milestone of every year that represents us getting one year older than we were.

Today was mine.

Now I must admit, now that I am older I don't quite get excited about it like I did when I was a kid. I find that other people are more excited about it than I am personally, but I wouldn't be able to tell you why that is. Maybe the thought of growing up just frightens me, and I wish that I could be like Peter Pan and the lost boys, and never grow up.

That's not to say that I am truly appreciative of the people who made my day better and filled it with the extra sunshine that one deserves on their special day.

To my family for cheering me up all day and singing happy birthday to me on the phone multiple times.

To my roommate who went out of her way to make me and ice cream cake, of which she is the first person (Outside of my family) to ever make me a cake.

To the girls I work with back home for sending me pictures of the dogs from work with their messages, it cheered me up and made me feel a little bit homesick.

And to everyone who went out of their way to say Happy Birthday, I'm not sure I deserve it from some of you, but thank you anyway.

I hope you all had a wonderful Monday, and that someone puts that little bit of sunshine into your day, like you all deserve.

Do you hear the people sing? with Les Miserables

Saturday, 22 August 2015

It no secret at all that I am a musical theatre fan, just go back to my post about Wicked from last year, to see how much so. They are something that I adore more than life and something that I spend way to much of my free time thinking (and jamming out to) than I would like to admit.

So when I FINALLY!! got the chance to see Les Mis in Sydney I died on the inside.

This was one of the few musicals that I have always wanted to see live, it's a musical that is in my top 5 favourite shows, even though I hadn't seen it live until this year.

I am such a big fangirl about this musical. I love almost everything thing about it, and constantly have the songs stuck in my head. So when I got tickets to go and see it for my birthday with my beautiful mother and aunt I was over the moon.

Seeing it live on stage lives up to expectation, much better than watching the 25th anniversary and movie version on my computer. Even though I have a total girl crush on Samantha Barks, who was in both of those versions. Seeing it live in front of my own eyes was magical.

Also the cast that they had were amazing and so very talented.

It's such a powerful musical and is so glorious to watch.

What is your favourite musical? and have you gotten to see it live?

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22

Saturday, 2 May 2015

Today I am officially 22, I have said goodbye to my year as a 21 year old and hello to being 22.

I'm not a huge fan of celebrating big for my own birthdays, so I spent most of my day inside, just relaxing and hanging out. Something that I actually needed to do. I spent most of the day curled up in my pjs just watching stuff on my laptop and lazy around. And listening to Taylor Swift's 22 of course.

Although in the evening my wonderful roommates talked me into going out for dinner and we had a super nice italian meal.

Also in a card from my mother, came this picture of me at 3 years old, feeding ducks in a pond back home.

May Rewind 2014.

Monday, 9 June 2014

Hey guys,
So I thought I would do one of these monthly rewind things where I put a bunch of photos in about the highlights of the month past. So here are my May standout moments.

Side note: now that I am on holidays and have finished all my assignments for the semester I will be able to blog more. Things got crazy at the end of may as I had a huge pile of things to do for uni, but now I have a break for 5 weeks so I can concentrate on other things for a while.

Tell them that it's my birthday.

Saturday, 3 May 2014

Hey guys,
So yes this is a day late, and yesterday didn't have a post, but there are two coming today.
Yesterday, as you might be able to tell from the title was my birthday. So I wanted to have a relaxing, lazy(no uni woohoo) and slightly 'boring' day. So I didn't get around to posting, but it is here today.

I finally turned the big 21, which isn't a gigantic deal here in Australia, but it is still highly celebrated. I didn't have a big party on the day or anything, not that I minded, when I was home for the holidays I had something, so the actually day was to be a relaxed one.

I was lucky enough to have a BBQ, in Sydney with my friends from home.

I was also lucky enough to spend the actual day with my lovely roommates, who managed to cheer me up and celebrated with me. My absence from my family at home made me feel sad, but these guys managed to cheer me up.

As well as getting flowers and chocolates from my lovely mother back home.

I will admit that if anyone asks me if I feel any older, the answer will be no.

Best friend turns 21!

Friday, 7 February 2014

Hey guys,
So todays post is just a look down memory lane for me. Today my best friend of 19 years turned 21 and I can't imagine having spent those years without her.

I searched the deep dark corners of our house to find any possible photos of her and I as kids to embarrass her.

So Happy Birthday Kandy, I hope that I get to spend the rest of ours lives as friends, and being complete and utter dickheads.

xx Kat

Turning 20

Tuesday, 14 May 2013

Times flies in life when you are having fun.
But it's a strange thought to consider that 12 days ago I turned 20. No longer a teenager and finally (more like hopefully) growing out of my teen stages. I never considered 20 as a big thing. It's no major milestone, not an 18th or a 21st. But it is a new era as well. Changes that only come with no longer being classified as a teen.

I was lucky enough to spend my birthday with my family. Then celebrate with a few of my closest friends a week later. It's a great feeling to spent such plesant times with the ones you love.

The party was nothing special. Just a few small things that I threw together last minute. No big bash. Just a small gathering. Minus a few key people in my life(who unfortunatly couldn't make it). But it still meant the world to me.

Spending a few hours with these lovely people certainly made my night. These guys are so important to me and I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for these guys.
Note the onesie craziness, that's actually quite normal for us.
Also the tasty home made cupcake.

I wouldn't have wanted to spend a day like that any other way. And it proves that great people do exist in the world.
