Take a leap.

Monday 27 January 2014

Hey guys,
So today I wanted to talk about taking a leap, doing something that you never thought you would or could, or something that others told you you would never be able to do. I want to talk about this mainly because it is a major point in my life right now, this is happening to me and it is happening soon.

Taking a leap of faith. Doing something for yourself that is beyond what you had been dreaming for yourself in the past.

So why the decision to write about this subject today. Well in just under a month I will be taking a leap. Changing my life and what may happen in my future. Making one of the biggest changes I have ever made for myself, and I never thought I would be something of this size.

Not only am I officially moving out of home(semi permanently), but I will be moving to another state. A huge leap, considering I never thought I would be out of home just yet. Whilst I will still technically be living in Sydney, as that is currently my permanent address, I will be living in Melbourne for nine months of the year.

Why is this?
Because I will be going to University in Melbourne. Which is also another thing I never thought I would be doing.

When I left school university wasn't really something I considered seriously. I didn't think I would ever go, or at least be able to go through another 3 years of serious education. But the time has come and I have changed my perspective on the whole idea, and am actually extremely excited to venture into this next chapter of my life.

So over the next month I will be crazy busy, preparing for my leap.

I will be organising my home life so that when I am here on holidays, it will be clean and in order. And I will also be preparing like crazy to go back to school.

My moving nerves are already settling in, even though I still have a couple of weeks till I have to be down there.

So my advice to you is take that leap, you never know what you might come across if you make a crazy change to your life. Don't listen to those who put you down, and just go for it. Sometimes you might be surprised by the outcome. Good things might happen, you never know until you try.

That's all for today, I hope you are all having a good day and a great week,
xx Kat

She's my best friend for a reason.

Thursday 23 January 2014

Hey guys,
So today, for the first time in a while, I got to spend the whole day in the city with my best friend. This doesn't happen very often anymore because she moved away for Uni, but now she home on holidays. We have a age long tradition of heading into the city and doing a few certain things together.

Another reason for our day together was due to the fact that our Christmas presents to each other hadn't been swapped. We have a habit of filling a box full of things for the other and not worrying about a price range.

We had the same thought when it came to cards, creating our own, using people that we had jokingly put on the list, and dressing them up christmasy. I must admit we think alike when it comes to that sort of stuff. I don't have a picture of what I created for her, but here is the card on the box.

She knows e well. And everything in the box I was pleased with, she even managed to pick things I nearly bought myself (the fox gloves from ASOS).

Photos of us from a photo booth place. A tradition between us.

There are many reasons why she is my best friend, these are just a couple. Day well spent, and it was just what I needed. A chance to get out of the house and away from my mind.

xx Kat.

Project 2014

Tuesday 21 January 2014

Hey guys,
So 2014 is well on it's way, we are almost at the end of January and that means that we are one month down. I am aiming to use 2014 as a year to change my life, throw in new things and put myself in new situations. This also means starting new projects and doing things that make me happy and mean that I don't spend all my free time sitting around on my laptop (which I happen to be doing now, but with a purpose).

Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed this book everywhere and it made me curious. It wasn't until I was watching my daily dose of YouTube that I got a good explanation for what is was, thanks to YouTuber Grav3yardgirl, that made me really want to give it a try.

So my first project for the year is the 'Wreck This Journal' by Keri Smith.

I am hoping that this will help me be more creative this year. I have always had a large imagination and I need to start finding outlets for some of the creativity that comes from my imagination, so I plan on using this for that. I also plan to share some of these pages with you guys, maybe a weekly or month update of sorts, but I don't even know yet.

I am hoping that I can also find out more about myself, you never know what will come out until you are given a task to really think about it. This year will be one of creativeness for me, as I need to start moving away from the place I have found myself stuck in since I left high school.

I already have some big plans ahead for this year (including 'moving' to a new city for a majority of the year) and hope that I can broaden my horizons, for myself and for this blog. I also have a pile of new ideas for this blog that will vary hugely from last year. I also plan on blogging more as I find it relaxing to just write stuff out and send it into cyber space for people to stumble across, so hopefully this will all go down smoothly.

I do hope to blog more frequently, although towards the end of next month it might be a challenge with the massive change that will be happening, but I hope that I get to share it with you guys and whomever stumbles down this rabbit hole.

I hope that you all have a splendid week, see you soon.

Change it up for 2014.

Monday 13 January 2014

Hey guys,
So we are a good two weeks into 2014 and I thought I would write about change. I know that recently I have felt like I have been going through the same motions since I left high school three years ago, and I fell that 2014 is going to be a big year of change. Whilst almost every year my new years resolution has been to make the year ahead different, I think is well past time to actually do something about the subject.

Found on pintrest.

I think that I have always perceived change as a bad thing. And I know I am not the only person who does the exact same thing. But a lot of the time it is viewed as something that you should approach slowly and with caution, or sometimes, not even at all. But now that I am finally getting used to the fact that the world isn't easy, I am beginning to realise that change may not be as bad as I always thought.

Change can come in many forms, whether it's changing your hair, or moving to a new place, it always lies around the corner. you just have to make the choice that leads to the change. That leads to a new place for you to inhabit. It starts with dreams and ideas, that you just have to be willing enough to follow.

Found on pintrest.

So 2014 should be the year you make a change for yourself. Say yes to more things, do stuff you would normal avoid, explore the world more (it can be a fairly fascinating place) and find a sense of adventure.

So now that 2014 is here, I will be making changes. Some will be big and some will be smaller. And I encourage everyone to do the same. Don't let life get repetitive, mix it up a little.

I hope that I get to share my changes with you all.

2013: A review

Wednesday 1 January 2014

Hey guys,
So I know I am a little late on the farewell of 2013 here on my blog, but I have been away and without a computer to use.
So here is my look back at 2013.

Firstly 2013 was a pretty good year to me. I studied for most of it and got to share some amazing moments with friends and family. I learnt new things about myself and new things in the areas I was studying. I also got to do some amazing things and have some amazing experiences with the people around me, who I wouldn't have had fun without.
Here are a few of my favorite moments of 2013:
-Going to Fiji with my best friend of 18 years
- Getting accepted into university after a three year break from full time studying.
- Seeing Taylor Swift in concert, as a birthday present.
- Buying myself a Canon 600D
- Performing on stage with my good friends on two occasions, one being music and one being a musical.

I hope 2014 will be as awesome as 2013 was. Here are some photos from the past year, which I hope never to forget.

Goodbye 2013.
You were good to me. Lets hope 2014 is just as good.

xx Kat

Going country, Christmas, Roadtrip, New years.

Hey guys,
So due to my being busy for the past two weeks straight, I have a hefty amount of things to write about. There will be three blog posts about the end of 2013, which I will need to get out of the way.
Also happy new years and welcome to 2014, I hope this year is a good one to you.

December was a bit of a hectic month for me. I went away three times, and in between those times I had a packed schedule. full of birthdays and Christmas celebrations. So this is to discus those.
So lets get started.

GOING COUNRTY.
This year, just before Christmas, I got to spend some time with my Dad, and his side of the family. They live on a farm about eight/nine hours away from me, so I don't get to see them all that often. But I got to spend six days with them before Christmas, so I could celebrate with them.
I do enjoy visiting them, considering they live on a farm and I get to be amongst their cattle, and even got to help them hand feed one of their calves.
Another thing I enjoy about going up there is that it's relaxing and away from the busyness of the city.

CHRISTMAS.
After flying home on Christmas eve, eve. We drove to Christmas eve at a member of my Mum's side of the family. A tradition that has taken place since before I was born, I got to see a couple of my cousins that I haven't seen in a long time (two of which have recently come back from living on the UK)
Christmas eve was followed by Christmas day lunch at my Aunts, down the coast. And boxing day up the mountains, seeing different parts of the family in each place.
All around it was a good a Christmas 'week'.

ROADTRIP/NEW YEARS.
This year for new years eve, I decided I wanted to get out of the city for new years eve. Sydney gets very busy, so its nice to get away from it all every now and then.
So me and a friend hoped in the car and headed down the coast, and back to my aunts house. They live five minutes from the beach and live in a little community, far from the bity city lights of Sydney. We got to spend five days there, relaxing in the sun, swimming at the beach and bringing in the new year with my family and down on the beach.
I don't regret getting out of the city for the new year.
We also got to see some on the local sightseeing spots. including the sea bridge, which is a new bridge built in replacement of an old one, that kept getting stuck in rock fall. and the abandoned train tunnel, that used to house the train line.

So that was my holiday season. I hope you all had a good holiday season and have a great start to 2014.

xx Kat
