Dance it out

Sunday, 17 May 2015

With being a self confessed stress head , I have picked up a few ways of de-stressing over the years. One of my all time favourites is dancing it out.

I usually do this when I am home alone, so I can dance without anyone watching and like I don't care at all. I just find some songs on Itunes that I feel like dancing to at that particular point in time, and just go for it.

This seems to make the stress fade away and also builds up a bit of a sweat, creating the perfect relaxing moment and getting in a bit of a workout.

My tips for dancing it out:
- Drink water in between, helps replace whatever you have sweated out and keeps you hydrated.
- Keep it safe and try to avoid injury, something that I am not good at, but I do try.
- Find the music that really makes you want to dance, for me its mostly musicals.
- Dance like you don't have a care in the world.
- You don't have to be good at dancing, just go with the flow and what feels right.

What are some songs that you can't help but dance to?

I'm a self-confessed stress head.

Life is stressful, that is one lesson I learned quite early in life. Although I didn't realise how stressful it really could be until I left high school and had to live in the grown up world. Something I still struggle with now.

But for as long as I can remember I always stressed out about things, it's just something I do.

These past couple of weeks have been super stressful for me. Uni assignments need to be done. Things for my car need to be done. Money things need to be done. And they all just seem to add up.

To be fair I put an extra load of stress on myself by doing May Madness, but truth be told I find it relaxing. For example, this non planned post is making me feel a bit better because I am getting my mind, if only for a little while, of some of the things I actually need to do. It relieves my stress and just works.

Here are some of my tips for de-stressing:
 - Remove yourself from the stressful situation, even if it is just for a small amount of time.
- Exercise is a great way to relax and its good for you.
- Look at cute animals on the internet, our your own pet, I mean seriously it helps.
- Dance. It's as simple as that.
- Lie on the floor, one of my personal favourites.
- Or alternatively blanket burrito.
- Craft.
- Read a book or watch a movie.
- Find something funny to watch, this is a good way to feel better.

What are some of your relaxation techniques that help you de-stress?

September Update 2014.

Thursday, 11 September 2014

Hey guys,
So September marks the last full month of my first year of university, which is super exciting. It also means that it is officially spring in Australia, although I think someone should tell Melbourne that because it's still super cold here somedays. And it also means that soon it will be summer, which I can't wait for. So I thought I would just do a few small updates on things.

1. Things will be getting busy for me over the next few months as I have 7 assignments left to finish off before I can truly be on holidays. Which is not something I will be looking forward to doing. I hate assignments.

2. With my soon to be found freedom in fourish weeks time I will be able to get out more and do some fun and adventurous things around Melbourne, which I haven't been able to do yet. Which I plan to post about when I can.

3. I plan on introducing a few new blog series on here. Which will hopefully start in October and will include things like my monthly favourites and maybe a monthly book club or something, in which I share my favourite things and books or whatever. I will also be continuing the 50 faces project when I get home to Sydney in November.

4. More free time means more adventures and blog posts, so once all my work is finished for the year I should hopefully be blogging a bit more.

5. Summers coming up so I hope to have some fun adventures plan to share with you guys. I just need to figure out what they will be.

6. October will also be a month of relaxation for me as once my assignments are finished I will need a little bit of down time to relax and chill out a bit so that should be fun.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day,
xx Kat

Enjoy the small things.

Friday, 27 June 2014

Hey guys,
So relaxation is a big thing for me whilst I am on holidays and being able to do the things I would be able to do whilst at Uni is really nice. I have been lucky enough to get some warmth and sunshine in winter in Sydney and I plan on taking advantage of every second of it.

Take a couple of minutes out of your day to enjoy the small things.

Hope those of you that are currently on holidays or vacations are enjoying them to their fullest.

Going country, Christmas, Roadtrip, New years.

Wednesday, 1 January 2014

Hey guys,
So due to my being busy for the past two weeks straight, I have a hefty amount of things to write about. There will be three blog posts about the end of 2013, which I will need to get out of the way.
Also happy new years and welcome to 2014, I hope this year is a good one to you.

December was a bit of a hectic month for me. I went away three times, and in between those times I had a packed schedule. full of birthdays and Christmas celebrations. So this is to discus those.
So lets get started.

GOING COUNRTY.
This year, just before Christmas, I got to spend some time with my Dad, and his side of the family. They live on a farm about eight/nine hours away from me, so I don't get to see them all that often. But I got to spend six days with them before Christmas, so I could celebrate with them.
I do enjoy visiting them, considering they live on a farm and I get to be amongst their cattle, and even got to help them hand feed one of their calves.
Another thing I enjoy about going up there is that it's relaxing and away from the busyness of the city.

CHRISTMAS.
After flying home on Christmas eve, eve. We drove to Christmas eve at a member of my Mum's side of the family. A tradition that has taken place since before I was born, I got to see a couple of my cousins that I haven't seen in a long time (two of which have recently come back from living on the UK)
Christmas eve was followed by Christmas day lunch at my Aunts, down the coast. And boxing day up the mountains, seeing different parts of the family in each place.
All around it was a good a Christmas 'week'.

ROADTRIP/NEW YEARS.
This year for new years eve, I decided I wanted to get out of the city for new years eve. Sydney gets very busy, so its nice to get away from it all every now and then.
So me and a friend hoped in the car and headed down the coast, and back to my aunts house. They live five minutes from the beach and live in a little community, far from the bity city lights of Sydney. We got to spend five days there, relaxing in the sun, swimming at the beach and bringing in the new year with my family and down on the beach.
I don't regret getting out of the city for the new year.
We also got to see some on the local sightseeing spots. including the sea bridge, which is a new bridge built in replacement of an old one, that kept getting stuck in rock fall. and the abandoned train tunnel, that used to house the train line.

So that was my holiday season. I hope you all had a good holiday season and have a great start to 2014.

xx Kat
