Uni 2014 Rewind.

Tuesday, 28 October 2014

Hey guys,
So a few weeks ago I officially finished my first year of university and I had planned on writing this blog sooner, but I got lazy and busy. So I thought I would write it now.

Here is to the year that has passed. To the people I have met and become friends with. To the memories that I will hold close for the rest of my life.

I have met a bunch of amazing people that I will hopefully get to know better over the next few years. I have gained new friends and have found a bunch of people who I enjoy spending time with. These people have taught me so many new lessons and even some that I needed to be reminded of. I will cherish the small moments of joy that I have found.

This year and going to university was a grand adventure for me, and I am glad that I took this opportunity and ran with it, instead of backing down and giving up on something new and different. I have had so many great adventure, that I will keep in my mind forever.

This year has been great and interesting and at times crazy. I would never turn back and undo the decisions I have made.

May Madness.

Thursday, 1 May 2014

Hey guys,
So May is here and I am ready for things to go crazy.
By which I mean May Madness. What is May Madness you ask, something I want to do on my blog. So here we go. Let me explain. May Madness will be a month of craziness. I will be (or attempting to) blog every day of this month. So everyday this May you should be getting a blog post from me and I hope I can keep it up.

On another note my project from last month (notice the ground beneath your feet) will be up in two days time. Yes it is going to be a little bit late, but it will be up in two days.

So that's all for today, lets get May kicked off.

St Kilda adventure.

Sunday, 6 April 2014

Hey guys,
Today I went on a little adventure, the first of it's kind this time round, to one of my favourite places in Melbourne, St Kilda. I mainly did this because I have a photography assignment due this coming week and thought St Kilda would be a good place to take photos. But the main reason is because I love it there.
I took with me my trusted bag, full of things to explore with, and my camera loaded with 35mm film, yes that's that old school stuff. And ventured off into the sunshine.

Armed with my bag I hopped on the tram and hoped not to get lost. This was my first time going to St Kilda from this direction of Melbourne, so I figured that I would most likely get lost. Which I did. I had to switch trams half way, and didn't know which side of the road the other tram stopped at. So I missed it. But the good thing was that this was the only hick-up of the day.

Eventually I got to St Kilda and got to enjoy it in the sun.
I walked along the beach and slowly made my way along my favourite markets, gazing at the wonders that were being sold, but not being able to buy much, besides a ring from a stall I love and some carmel fudge.

I managed to get everything I needed for my assignment, as well as enjoy being back there, for the first time this year.

I then had to meet up with  my cousin in the city, so I hopped on another tram and headed into the city, stopping at south bank. I walked along the river and enjoyed the sun and the general atmosphere of the area. And met my cousin at a cut little restaurant under a bridge, where we ate food and caught up.

This is one thing that I love about living in Melbourne. Things like this, and days like these.

March matters.

Thursday, 20 March 2014

Hey guys,
Sorry it's been a while, things have been a bit crazy and I haven't had much time to just sit down and write anything other than school work. But I am taking this time now to do some house keeping for March. I have a few ideas and things that I hope to blog this month. So I am going to try harder.

1. Blog more
At the beginning of the year I promised myself that I would blog more and that hasn't quite happened yet, so now is as good as anytime to fix that. I plan on blogging a tone more from here on out, no matter what it is about.

2. Notice the ground you walk on
This month I will have been taking a photo everyday of the ground beneath my feet. This was a little challenge I set myself, so at the end of this month I will be making a post with all of those pictures. So that should be 31 days worth of pictures. I would like to do something like this every month, I will just have to figure out a topic every month.

3. Adventure more
I haven't really had a chance top do much wondering since moving here, so I hope that I get that chance soon. When that happens I hope to share it with you guys.

4. Work hard
I never had a good ethic towards learning at high school, so I hope to change that here. I haven't let myself slip behind just yet, So heres hoping that doesn't change. I plan on working my butt off through the next three years of my study. So fingers crossed.

5. Be healthy
Here's another thing I have never been particularly good at, so I plan on changing that.

6. Say yes
This ties in with the adventure more rule. I usually say no to a lot of things, it's just the way I have always been, but the time has come to change that. I am going to push myself into say yes to more things. So I get the chance to experience more things.

So there are a few goals I hope to work towards this month/year.

Moving Day.

Saturday, 22 February 2014

Hey guys,
So today was moving day. I have departed on the next journey of my life and it's a crazy feeling. Officially out on my own and taking on the world, one day at a time.

So with two suitcases packed full of all my stuff, I made the long haul to Melbourne.
Now all I have left to do is get myself settled into my room and buy the things that I need that I didn't bring down with me.

I am super excited about this venture, not knowing what lies around the corner is a very entertaining concept to me.
So for the next two weeks I will be getting settled in. I am hoping to start blogging more, and even doing more variety of blogs. I guess we will just have to wait and see. You never know what lies right around the corner.

Project 2014

Tuesday, 21 January 2014

Hey guys,
So 2014 is well on it's way, we are almost at the end of January and that means that we are one month down. I am aiming to use 2014 as a year to change my life, throw in new things and put myself in new situations. This also means starting new projects and doing things that make me happy and mean that I don't spend all my free time sitting around on my laptop (which I happen to be doing now, but with a purpose).

Over the past couple of weeks I have noticed this book everywhere and it made me curious. It wasn't until I was watching my daily dose of YouTube that I got a good explanation for what is was, thanks to YouTuber Grav3yardgirl, that made me really want to give it a try.

So my first project for the year is the 'Wreck This Journal' by Keri Smith.

I am hoping that this will help me be more creative this year. I have always had a large imagination and I need to start finding outlets for some of the creativity that comes from my imagination, so I plan on using this for that. I also plan to share some of these pages with you guys, maybe a weekly or month update of sorts, but I don't even know yet.

I am hoping that I can also find out more about myself, you never know what will come out until you are given a task to really think about it. This year will be one of creativeness for me, as I need to start moving away from the place I have found myself stuck in since I left high school.

I already have some big plans ahead for this year (including 'moving' to a new city for a majority of the year) and hope that I can broaden my horizons, for myself and for this blog. I also have a pile of new ideas for this blog that will vary hugely from last year. I also plan on blogging more as I find it relaxing to just write stuff out and send it into cyber space for people to stumble across, so hopefully this will all go down smoothly.

I do hope to blog more frequently, although towards the end of next month it might be a challenge with the massive change that will be happening, but I hope that I get to share it with you guys and whomever stumbles down this rabbit hole.

I hope that you all have a splendid week, see you soon.

Live in the now.

Tuesday, 27 August 2013

Hello everybody.

It's strange what thoughts fly through your head in those moments before you fall asleep at night. I, like many others, am one of those people who thinks about almost everything that's ever happened to me, just as I am falling asleep.

It occurred to me last night, in one of those streams of thought, that I let too much of what has happened effect what is happening in this very moment.

So as of this moment I am going to attempt to live in the moment, the now. The past is gone, and no matter how much I want to change the mistakes I have made, or the things I have done. I will never get a chance to re-do them (unless a time machine gets invented in the future).

So that my lesson for today. live in the right here, right now, and forget the mistakes made in the past. You can only move forwards from here on out.

xx Kat
