May inspiration board.

Saturday, 7 May 2016

Welcome to the small list of things that are making me happy and inspired in the month of May

1. Study and hard work. I have a ton of uni work to do, and working hard towards finishing my final year of uni is in full swing.
2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I was practically brought up on Star Wars and so the recent release of the newest one has me pumped for what is to come.
3. Polka dots. I just have something for this pattern at the moment.
4. Outdoor adventures. All the hard work and studying has made me crave being outdoors and exploring.
5. Getting cosy with tea. With the winter months coming up, I'm all too ready to snuggle up and get comfy.
6. Sweater weather. Once again winter is headed my way and I can't wait to pull out all my knitted sweaters and wear them 24/7.

Sometimes I wish life would just slow down.

Tuesday, 3 May 2016

Welcome to one of possibly many late night ramble posts from me this month. This going to be a stream of consciousness type of thing.

Right now I haven't had anytime today to plan a post, what with being sick and the mountain of uni work that constantly sits in the corner, nagging at me that it needs to be finished.

So this is what leads me to today ramble. How I wish that time would slow down.

I almost feel like there isn't enough hours in the day for me to finish all of the work that I have planned for the day. Like the list magically grows, without me adding anything to it. I feel like time just flies by, and then I realise that I have only put a tiny dent in any to-do list.

If time could slow down I would be able to enjoy the small moments and appreciate the little things. I would be able to finish any work I have to a satisfactory level and not have to stress out about running out of time.

If time could slow down I would be able to get over this flu, without making it worse by not resting and constantly being on the go.

I currently have no time to rest, and yet procrastination is my best form of avoiding any work I have to complete. Like time and my mind are battling for my sanity and the part of me that doesn't want to do any work at all is winning. Slowly.

Life is just a series of moments, and those moments slip away faster that you sometimes wish.

So that was just one late night ramble thought that has been on my mind lately.

Whilst blogging is currently a form of procrastination, it's not one I'm mad about.

March rewind 2015

Sunday, 5 April 2015

It honestly feels like March flew by.

I gathered freebies at my university's O'Week, bought all of my required books, started classes, went to on campus parties and spent some quality time with my friends and new roommates.

I have already spent endless hours studying, or really procrastinating, and have managed to get through my first four weeks, of my second year, without any mishap.

I started to decorate my bedroom on campus and even started a few personal projects. somehow managing to balance everything smoothly and not feel swamped at the same time.

I put together three different costumes, for three different themed parties and managed to get lost on the drive to one of them.

I spent time at uni and away from uni hanging out with the amazing friends I have and bonded with my four new roommates for the year. I even came up with some grand ideas and plans, that I now need to act upon.

Netflix has also arrived in Australia, so that can only mean more hours of procrastination lie ahead.

I hope everyone is having a good easter break, whether you celebrate or not. I personally am back at home for a week on holidays.

A crazy week and a half.

Thursday, 19 March 2015

This past week and a half has been a crazy one.

Starting back at uni has me already drowning in readings and work, even though it is now only my second week back. I already feel behind, even though I can't honestly be that far behind.

I am a bit behind on my posts. I have a small list of things that I want to blog about, but I just seem to be running out of free time. Every moment feels like it is accounted for, and that any small moments left aside are for rest of to feed myself.

This weekend I plan to sit down and get out a couple of the blog posts I have been meaning to write over the past week and a half. I am going to dedicate time to writing them out and completing them. Catching up on a few days that I have missed.

Not only has my life been consumed with classes and class work, but also other out of class activities, like my dorm floors events and sporting games, as well as catching up with all of the people I didn't get to see over the summer.

Now I will be getting back into the swing of things, organising my time a little bit better and fitting in the things that I wan't to do, along with those that I need to do.

I hope you all are having a good week.

The Study Life.

Thursday, 16 October 2014

Hey guys,
So I have officially finished my first year of university, having just finished all of my assignments that were due. I am finally free for the next couple of months to have fun and do whatever I want really.

So since I have finished I thought I would do a couple of posts focusing on the past 9 months of my life. So I will be doing a few university related posts.

Todays one will be about my previous crazy assignment week.

Doing an arts course means that I don't have to do exams. I unfortunately have to do double the mount of assignments. Meaning that my last week of  uni work consisted of me working on back to back assignments, all due one after the other.

Here are just a few photos I took during the week, mostly when I was bored or wanted to procrastinate, which was quite often.

I hope everyone is doing well. And those of you about to sit you end of year exams are doing okay.

Just a small update.

Tuesday, 15 July 2014

Hey guys,
So I thought I would post up a small post about whats happening and my future plans for my blog. Some things that will be happening over the next few weeks/months.

So I am back at uni and things are surely going to pick up and be all crazy again, but I will hopefully take some time off and blog a little bit as a form of relaxation, or really procrastination, whilst I am studying.

I also hope to start up a blog series called the 50 faces project. An idea I got off a friend of mine, in which I will share with you 50 people who are important in my life. This my take a few years to accomplish, but I hope that I becomes a continuous thing.

I also hope to include more variety of posts. Which really means lets see what I feel like posting about, anything I feel worthy to write about I will. I want to share more content with you guys and delve a little bit more into what makes me tick, and the things that I enjoy in my everyday life. I want to share more with you guys.

Hopefully I won't get lazy again and will actually keep up with my new way at looking at things. I will need to get a little more organised, but I do promise more content coming your way.

Study Tips.

Tuesday, 27 May 2014

Hey guys,

So I am in the middle of assessment season at University and even though I should be doing work, I am taking a much needed break to do something else for a little while. So here are some of my personal favourite study tactics for when I have work to be done.

1. Pace yourself.
I find it useful to have working periods. So study or work on something for a certain amount of time(i.e 30 minutes), then reward yourself with a break(i.e equal or less amount of time). I find that this keeps me motivated and helps me concentrate whilst I am doing work.

2. Take notes.
Take a ton of notes, especially if you need them for a future assessment or essay. Taking notes is the best way to remember what you are learning and a good way to track things later down the line.

3. Break fun.
When you take you breaks do something that has nothing to do with your work. It will keep you concentrating on your work when you get back to it, and will also help you not overthink it when you are on your break.

4. Don't give up.
Try not to give up in the middle of things. If you start not finishing things you may form a habit of doing so. Even when things get hard try not to drop what you are doing and leave it alone. It will be much more satisfying when you finish, opposed to when you leave it uncompleted.

5. Highlight the crap out of stuff.
I am a crazy person with a highlighters and notes. I don't know what it is, but I cant help myself when it comes to highlighting this. It's a good way to remember things and also a good way to find important things when you are studying later on.

6. Keep organised.
Organising you stuff makes things easier to find latter on down the track. Keep things order and in a system that will help you find what you need faster.

Study, play and enjoy the day.

Monday, 19 May 2014

Hey guys,
So I have discovered recently that the only way for me to not go insane while studying, is to balance out my time with fun additions.

Spending equal amounts of time having fun, as I have studying, means that I am not driving myself crazy, staring at a piece of paper or some text that needs to be read.
This goes for many things, always make time for a little bit of fun, even if it is only a small break, just don't get to caught up in the fun, make sure all your study gets finished as well.

Even though winter is just around the corner, for us in Australia, it's still important to enjoy the day, whether it's inside or out. Break up your studying and you will feel better about everything, or at least I do.

Swamped.

Sunday, 30 March 2014

Hey guys,
Today post comes to you in the midst of my own procrastination. I have been staring at my computer for hours, trying to attempt finishing the reading I need to do and to do the ever growing pile of Uni work.
But my brain has wondered, and is getting a little bit bored with reading and doing work. So I thought I would post.

I currently have a list of running things I need to do and it never seems to go down. Things keep getting added, but by the time they have been completed, several other things have been added in it's place. It's virtually an endless list of things.
I will say that I am not to far behind on my work, which is a pleasant surprise to me, as I always felt like I was behind at high school, that and I was too lazy, but so far I haven't left anything to the last minute. So that's a plus.

I also constantly find myself staring out of my window, at nothing in particular, just so that I don't have to concentrate on any work. Plus it was sunny for most of the day, so that didn't help. Or eating, for some reason eating seems to take my attention a lot.
I can't quite comprehend how people who are doing sciencey subject manage, when I am slightly struggling keeping up with a Creative Arts subject. Don't assume we don't do any work outside of class, we do plenty.

I have also found myself consuming four time more coffee and peppermint tea than usual, just to help me along with my studies. The coffee hit certainly doesn't help with the procrastination, it just makes me get bored faster. But it helps a little.

So thats all for now, I should probably get back to reading the large pile of texts that I need to read for week 3 and 4, which I haven't finished and haven't started.
