Motivation, come get me.

Sunday, 4 May 2014

Hey guys,
Today I am talking about something I lack a majority of the time. Something I don't ever think I have truly grasped in my hand. Something that I need to learn and shape so that I can be the fullest version of myself. I know that sounds like I am trying to talk myself into something, but honestly I am.

Motivation is something I have lacked for practically forever. I don't ever feel like I have the motivation to do things, even though I should. Its an important life skill that I haven't mastered and I don't know if I ever fully will, even though I wish I could.

Now I know in my saying that, that it is doing the opposite of what I want. That I should be cheering myself on to strive towards it, but in truth, it's not something I am good at, and never have been.

But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't try for motivation, that teaching yourself how to get to a high level of motivation ins't impossible. So that is going to become a new goal for me this year. Try to be more motivated.

Learn not to put myself down and tell myself that I can't. Ignore all the voices of my past that once told me I couldn't follow my dreams. Teach myself to finish what I have started and not be afraid to try new things, that stretch my boundaries and put me out of my comfort zone.

I will start to tell myself that I can do things and that giving up isn't an option, even if I feel that it is the easiest way out. Because sometimes it's not the best solution to how things should end up.

One lesson that I want people to take away is that denying yourself you dream isn't ever going to help. Ignore the nay sayers and get your motivation up as high as possible.

This year I hope to change that within myself. And hopefully I will learn to accept that change and grow with it. Now all I need is that motivation to get that started, and that will start today.

This blogging every day thing will help me with that motivation.

Winter is coming... And I don't hate it.

Saturday, 3 May 2014

Hey guys,

So for us in the southern hemisphere(or at least Australia), winter is coming. And I honestly don't mind that it is coming. A lot of people assume that we love summer and the beach, and don't get me wrong I do love those things too, but I love winter more.
There is just something about snuggling up by a heater, with a hot chocolate and a blanket and watching movies(or more recently re-watching the Gilmore Girls). I just really enjoy all of those things.

Why am I bringing this up? Well winter is showing it's face here and I am enjoying it so much. So I can't wait.

Tell them that it's my birthday.

Hey guys,
So yes this is a day late, and yesterday didn't have a post, but there are two coming today.
Yesterday, as you might be able to tell from the title was my birthday. So I wanted to have a relaxing, lazy(no uni woohoo) and slightly 'boring' day. So I didn't get around to posting, but it is here today.

I finally turned the big 21, which isn't a gigantic deal here in Australia, but it is still highly celebrated. I didn't have a big party on the day or anything, not that I minded, when I was home for the holidays I had something, so the actually day was to be a relaxed one.

I was lucky enough to have a BBQ, in Sydney with my friends from home.

I was also lucky enough to spend the actual day with my lovely roommates, who managed to cheer me up and celebrated with me. My absence from my family at home made me feel sad, but these guys managed to cheer me up.

As well as getting flowers and chocolates from my lovely mother back home.

I will admit that if anyone asks me if I feel any older, the answer will be no.

May Madness.

Thursday, 1 May 2014

Hey guys,
So May is here and I am ready for things to go crazy.
By which I mean May Madness. What is May Madness you ask, something I want to do on my blog. So here we go. Let me explain. May Madness will be a month of craziness. I will be (or attempting to) blog every day of this month. So everyday this May you should be getting a blog post from me and I hope I can keep it up.

On another note my project from last month (notice the ground beneath your feet) will be up in two days time. Yes it is going to be a little bit late, but it will be up in two days.

So that's all for today, lets get May kicked off.

Finding the unknown in a place I know best.

Sunday, 27 April 2014

Hey guys,
I just got back from my easter holiday break and I had a blast. I don't feel like I really got to relax, like I had hoped to do. But I did get to catch up with a bunch of people and got to have a bit of adventure as well.

One of my friends from America came and stayed whilst we are on holidays, so I got to play tour guide and tourist in my own home town, which was exciting for me.

He had heard about a boat that had a mangrove on it, so we ventured out and found it.

These boats are known as the Shipwrecks of Homebush Bay. They are floating mangroves. These boats were here because it used to be a shipwreck yard. Each of these boats were used in the wars, and now only smaller parts, of each of the four boats that sit here, remain.

These boats look amazing and I found it fascinating that I had never seen or heard of them before. I find it unbelievable that I have never heard of them before. But I am glad that I hadn't heard of them ever before because it meant that I got a little adventure in a place that I know so much of.

We also ate at two themed restaurants. One being outback steakhouse, which my friend was excited about. And the other was Beached Burrito company, my all time favourite mexican place.

All in all it was a good trip home. Finding new things and having fun. And eating lots of food.

I'm coming home.

Friday, 18 April 2014

Hey guys,
So my break started yesterday (yay!) and I finally got to go home. So here is to my holiday back home, with my family.

I have missed being here in all honesty, I didn't think I would miss it as much, but now that I am back here I have realised just how much I miss it here, and how much I appreciate being able to come back home in the holidays. Giving me a break from the busy Uni days.

I just wanted to say Happy Easter to you all, whether you celebrate it or not. I hope you have a nice holiday if you do get the days off. I am going to enjoy spending time with my family and stuffing my face full of food for Greek easter. And of course chocolate!

Stay safe this holiday season.

April Matters.

Monday, 14 April 2014

Hey guys,
How's everyone going? I thought I would do another one of these little update blog posts again. Just like I did last month. So lets get started.

1. Notice the ground underneath you feet will come out this month. March was kind of crazy and I didn't get around to posting it up, so I will do so at the end of April instead. But it is still going to happen.

2. I have come up with a plan for the month of May, which I will share with you all later on this month, it should be fun and test me to my limits. But I am looking forward to seeing if I can challenge myself and I am going to need to plan ahead for that one. So get excited for that.

3. I get to go home for a holiday at the end of this week, so I hope to pack as much as possible in during that week as I can. Which I will hopefully blog about.

4. I am going to start doing a monthly review post. Showing you any pictures that have been taken during the month that has past. This will help me with my 'Take more photos' goal that I made at the beginning of the year. Which I will highlight my favourite moments of the month past.

5. I hope to explore some more throughout the rest of this month, so I hope to do so and share it with you guys.

6. Blog more.

That's about it for April. I now have to go back to doing my Uni work, which seems to take up a majority of my time these days.
