Belated Easter weekend fun.

Monday, 13 April 2015

I had the luck of being able to go home for a week at Easter and spend the wonderful Easter weekend with my family, and also celebrate my lovely Mum's birthday.

Unfortunately since then I have been swamped with university assignment being due, so I haven't had the time to share my lovely weekend with you guys. So I thought better late than never that I would share with you some moments and pictures of my fun filled Easter weekend.

Waiting by the door.

I was lucky enough to spend my Easter break at home with my family and my gorgeous puppy. I was also lucky enough to spend Easter Sunday with my family, as we all celebrated Easter and my Mum's birthday.

We stopped by some falls on the way down, to let the dog have a toilet break, and I had a little wonder around and enjoyed the environment and natural beauty of the falls and even the surrounding landscape.

My heart.

We then spent the rest of the weekend eating food (mostly chocolate of course) and spending time with the people we love.

I did get the remainder of the week off, but by the end of the long weekend I was stressing about the assignments I had to do, one of which I am now procrastinating on writing this blog post.

What was the best part about your Easter long weekend, if you celebrate it?

I hope you are all having a wonderful week.

Finding the unknown in a place I know best.

Sunday, 27 April 2014

Hey guys,
I just got back from my easter holiday break and I had a blast. I don't feel like I really got to relax, like I had hoped to do. But I did get to catch up with a bunch of people and got to have a bit of adventure as well.

One of my friends from America came and stayed whilst we are on holidays, so I got to play tour guide and tourist in my own home town, which was exciting for me.

He had heard about a boat that had a mangrove on it, so we ventured out and found it.

These boats are known as the Shipwrecks of Homebush Bay. They are floating mangroves. These boats were here because it used to be a shipwreck yard. Each of these boats were used in the wars, and now only smaller parts, of each of the four boats that sit here, remain.

These boats look amazing and I found it fascinating that I had never seen or heard of them before. I find it unbelievable that I have never heard of them before. But I am glad that I hadn't heard of them ever before because it meant that I got a little adventure in a place that I know so much of.

We also ate at two themed restaurants. One being outback steakhouse, which my friend was excited about. And the other was Beached Burrito company, my all time favourite mexican place.

All in all it was a good trip home. Finding new things and having fun. And eating lots of food.

I'm coming home.

Friday, 18 April 2014

Hey guys,
So my break started yesterday (yay!) and I finally got to go home. So here is to my holiday back home, with my family.

I have missed being here in all honesty, I didn't think I would miss it as much, but now that I am back here I have realised just how much I miss it here, and how much I appreciate being able to come back home in the holidays. Giving me a break from the busy Uni days.

I just wanted to say Happy Easter to you all, whether you celebrate it or not. I hope you have a nice holiday if you do get the days off. I am going to enjoy spending time with my family and stuffing my face full of food for Greek easter. And of course chocolate!

Stay safe this holiday season.

A tropical summer vacation in Fiji.

Tuesday, 17 December 2013

Hey guys,
So summer has hit Sydney and so I decided to have a bit of a tropical, island holiday with my best friend of 17 years. A few months ago we decided that we wanted to get out of Sydney for a week and just find a place to relax and unwind, after a long year of things we had overcome.

So at 7o'clock on Friday the 6th of December we headed to the airport and started our half a day journey to Fiji's Nadi international airport. One plus side of picking Fiji is that it didn't really throw out our sleeping patterns as they are only two hours ahead of Sydney, But it still meant we lost some time of our Friday.

Once we landed we headed straight to the resort we were staying at. On the hour long drive I took in the surrounding landscape. It reminded me a lot of my time on Samoa, which I went on a school trip to 5 years ago. The whole atmosphere reminded me a lot of my time there, which was a nice reminder of  the amazing time I had there.
We were met with beautiful, lush vegetation and mild warm weather. A large difference form Sydney, which had been going through rather dramatic weather changes.

There's nothing like spending an entire week relaxing at a resort on a tropical island. Whilst we didn't do much exploring off of the grounds of our resort we did get to immerse ourselves in the Fijian lifestyle. Like getting to watch some traditional dances, enjoying local food and drinks and swimming in the crystal clear water that was just outside our room.

I think this holiday was good for both of us. It was a nice little break from home, and a good chance to get away from it all before the craziness of Christmas starts.

I hope you are all having a great holiday season so far. I am off to pack my bags once again and go on a countryside trip to visit my grandparents.

Summer to do list.

Saturday, 16 November 2013

Hey everyone,

So for us Australian people summer is just around the corner, even thought the weather in Sydney would say otherwise, and I can wait. Whilst I do love winter, summer is also a season I love very much. It means I get to just hop in the car and go to the beach, and spend warm nights out with my friends. But I wanted to come up with a list of things to do this summer. Things that would give me some adventure and a refreshing view on things. So here are a few things on my list.

1. Go to a new place.
2. Go on a grand adventure with one, or more, friends.
3. Discover a new beach that I haven't been to before.
4. Try something new(whether it be food, activity or a new skill)
5. Redecorate my room.
6. Wander around the place I grew up in and discover new things about it.
7. Visit places I haven't been to in a long time/places I used to love as a kid.
8. Road trip somewhere(anywhere)
9. Make the most out of the sunshine.
10. Catch up with friends that I haven't seen in a long time.
11. Take every opportunity I am offered.
12. Make a list of places I would like to go to, that I have never been to before, and go to them.
13. Hop on a train and go somewhere.

So I hope to make this summer memorable and I hope I get to share it with all of you. I hope that I spend my time adventuring and not sitting around with nothing to do. I can't wait for what ever comes next, but I hope its fun and full of things I enjoy.

Until next time,

A weekend of sun and surf.

Monday, 26 August 2013

Howdy everyone.

So the weekend just gone I was lucky enough to be able to escape the city life, and ventured down the coast to visit my Aunt and Uncle.

We got to spend two days in the sunshine, only a five minute walk from the local beach, we also took our dog along for the ride, considering he loves water and the beach.

This was a nice little break, something I sort of needed considering the large pile of work I have to do, that I left at home. It's nice to every once and a while to get away from everything, including the city and just enjoy the fresh air for a couple of days.

I hope you all had fun and hopefully relaxing weekends as well.

xx Kat
